Each photo imported into Lightroom gets at least the
following two keywords assigned... “Location” and “Subject”. "Location" Keyword This is actually a hierarchy of keywords that drills down to where the photo was taken. For example: Wyoming : Grand Teton : Schwabacher Landing : Beaver pond
Another hierarchy of
keywords that drills down to the subject in the photo.
For example: Animals : a-g :
Bison The “Location” and “Subject” keywords provide the ability to quickly search the Lightroom catalog for photos. Note:As you will see in my workflow description, I also assign a Star Rating to each photo. A Star Rating along with a keyword allows me to create a Smart Collection that will automatically find all of the photos I want to include in my Blog as well as those I want to be "permanent" members of my Collections pages. More specifically, all photos that have a keyword of "Grand Teton" that have a star rating of 4 will be gathered by a Smart Collection and can easily be included on my Blog page. All photos that have a keyword of "Grand Teton" that have a star rating of 5 will be gathered by a Smart Collection and can easily be included on my Collections page for Grand Teton National Park Landscapes. |
