Bluegrass Festival
Posted: August 18

There are a number of musical groups I have been introduced to in Teton Valley ID. The Sarah Jaroz Trio is one of those groups along with Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, Carolyn Wonderland, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks and Sam Bush to name a few.

Some of the other notable performers were:

Yonder Mountain String Band, Infamous Strtingdusters, Tim O'Brien, Peter Rowan, Donna & the Buffalo and Greeencards,

North Fork Teton Canyon

I don't hike this canyon very often. It is a pretty canyon but not as nice as the South Fork of Teton Canyon.

Targhee Fest
Posted: July 17

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals were the starring act at this summer's Targhee Festival. Grace remarked that it was the first time the "Nocturnals" played there at night! Unfortunately, that group has gotten so popular that I am afraid we will never have them again at Targhee. I hope I am wrong.

Some of the other notable performers were:

Little Feat, James McMurtry, Sara Bareillis, Jackie Green and Sharon Jones & the Dapkings.

Ferguson Visit
Posted: July 16

My good friends Dave and Tonya Ferguson visited this week along with their two grandsons.

This was the first visit for the boys and they thoroughly enjoyed it. They got a chance to play in the snow in July and white water raft down the Snake River. But they seemed to really enjoy the evening with my good friends Chuck and Shegeko Irwin. Shegeko made another of her fabulous dinners and the boys ate and ate and ate.

This annual event is held on Father's Day.

You get to see Birds of Prey up close, get to see some of them fly, good food to eat and music to boot.

Grand Teton National Park
Posted: June 03

As you can see, Jackson Lake has been lowered considerably in anticipation of the snow melt for the massive amount of snow received over the winter months.

I have never seen this much snow in the mountains in my years of visiting in the summer.

In Teton Valley ID, the highway is flooded in places. My friends, Chuck and Shegeko, have lived in the valley for 35 years and they have never seen the highway flooded.
