This past weekend was the 32nd Annual Targhee Bluegrass Music Festival. Unlike last year, the weather was nice and cool.

As usual, the music was great and the crowds large.

The weather is quite hot so I did not go to Bluegrass at all on Friday. I went for the last three performers on Saturday when it was a bit cooler.

This weekend was the 30th annual Bluegrass Festival at Grand Targhee. The Festival was very well attended all three days.

The performers were a mix of established acts along with newcomers who were quite good as well.

This was the 29th Annual Bluegrass Festival.

This year's festival was quite interesting. It not only featured some great bluegrass music (Pokey LaFarge, Dave Grisman and Sam Bush to name a few) but some real oddities.

The highlights for me were the Pokey LaFarge performance, the entire Dave Grisman performance and then Dave joining Sam Bush for "Summertime". It was magic.

The oddities were: The Waybacks whole set was covers of Eagles songs and a pretty hard rock band that were quite good. An interesting oddity was Sam Bush performing a bluegrass version of "Great Balls of Fire".

Pictured is McKenzie Reed who was attending her first music festival at Targhee. McKenzie leaves in three weeks to begin college at Lawrence University in Wisconsin. Good luck Kenz!

This weekend was the 28th Annual Targhee Bluegrass Festival.

Note: I had to miss last year's festival as I had to remain in St. Louis to deal with serious health issues.

Attended the Bluegrass festival at Grand Targhee over the weekend. Great music. Great folks. Lots of fun.

Pictued is a high school classmate and good friend Larry Kotner. He and his wife Karen (also a classmate) were visiting and wanted to attend the Festival.

Larry puurchased this hat during his visit. I told him it looked good on him and that he should wear it this his first day back at work. He did!

There are a number of musical groups I have been introduced to in Teton Valley ID. The Sarah Jaroz Trio is one of those groups along with Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, Carolyn Wonderland, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks and Sam Bush to name a few.

Fun times listening to music, talking to people and taking photos.

On day 2, I was taking photos out into the audience with my back to the stage. With the camera to my eye, a young lady tapped me on the shoulder. "Do you remember me?". I did. It was Rebecca Parker and she had played basketball at Washington University.

This was my first time at the Bluegrass Festival. I was given tickets for the Saturday and Sunday shows. I enjoyed the music and the fans. I will be back!
