I have been visiting Grand Teton National
Park since 1975. It wasn't until 2006 that I
discovered Schwabacher Landing.
I now take all of my visitors there.
I will urge any tourist to
visit if they sport a nice camera. I am an
unabashed "fanboy" of Schwabacher Landing.
As you can see from the photo above,
Schwabacher Landing is a particularly
beautiful area in Grand Teton National Park. |

How do you get there? |
|
The turnoff to Schwabacher Landing is located on the
outer park road about four miles north of Antelope Flats Road.
There will be two scenic pullouts that you
pass by on this road before you come to
Schwabacher Landing Road. The turnoff is a
very short distance past the second of the
two scenic pullouts. The sign that announces
the turnoff will be located on the left hand
(west) side of the road. It is not a large
sign so keep your eyes peeled. |
|
Once you make the left turn, drive that road
until it comes to a dead end at a parking lot. There will be a rest room
on your right just before the parking lot. |
|
Park your car. Takeout your camera. Hike
down the short hill from the parking lot and
follow the trail. Take your time so you
don't miss out. |
|
What will you see once you get
there? |
|
Animals
You may see any of the following: badger, bald eagles, bear, beaver, buffalo, elk,
great blue heron, moose, mule deer, pronghorn (antelope) and various
species of waterfowl.

Reflections
There is quite a good sized beaver dam
which provides some great reflections of the
Teton Range and trees in your photos.

Beautiful Landscapes
Schwabacher Landing is famous for the
landscape photos that photographers take
there. You have probably seen and admired
them but were not aware where they were
taken. Now you know!
