I don't normally visit Yellowstone National Park all that often. With a lighter than normal visitor schedule this summer I decided to take a two day trip to Yellowstone. My main objective was to visit the northern and eastern portions of the park. My prime destination was the Lamar Valley.

The only animal photos I was able to capture in the Lamar Valley were of bison. I did spot a number of antelope and a single grizzly but they were only viewable using my spotting scope from a great distance.

Here are a few of the other photos I was able to capture during my visit.

This elk was standing in the river and dining on the shore. I was positioned behind a large boulder about 15 feet from the action.

There were a bunch of Bighorn Sheep along the roadside and up a hill.
