This past weekend was the
26th Annual Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival. |
|
I was not able to attend all
of the performances as I was involved in
preparing for and attending our Annual HOA
meeting. I was able to take quite a few photos
and see the majority of the bands perform. All
in all a great weekend with some REALLY
outstanding fiddlers in attendance. |
|
One group that
performed consisted of some very young looking
performers. I asked a number of the other
"older" patrons if the group looked like they
were 15 years old to them as well. Unanimous
agreement. So without further adieu
here are a few of the photos I took over the
three day weekend . |

At the end of Sunday
evening, the sun put on a performance of its
own. I made quite a few snaps playing around
with various exposure settings. I love the way
this one turned out. I posted this on Facebook
and have gotten lots of "Likes". |

I had read an article
somewhere about shooting at sunset and sunrise
and tried some of the suggestions from that
article. Those suggestions were: |
|
1. Start in Av mode. Set
your aperture and ISO to your desired settings
and check your exposure. Meter off the sky on
either side of the sun. Note the shutter speed. |
|
2. Switch to Manual mode.
Double the shutter speed. |
|
These suggestions seemed to
work pretty well. I still had difficulty
capturing the photo when then sun was not at
least partially covered. Too much dynamic range
to work with. I have kept those photos as well.
Perhaps when I upgrade to Lightroom 5, I will
play around with the new radial gradient filter
feature on those shots. |
