I have been playing around with a few of the new features of the Lightroom 5 Beta... revised Spot Removal tool, the new Upright tool and the new Visualize Spots tool.

First, the revised algorithms of the Spot Removal tool. My experience is that it works no better or no worse than the Clone Healing tool in Photoshop Elements (version 9). Verdict: helpful in certain instances thus avoiding a trip to Elements & back.

Second, the Upright tool. It is simply amazing what this tool does with the click of a button! I know there has to be some big time math going on behind the scenes and I am astounded by the results. Bravo Adobe!

And did I say it only required ONE click!

Third, the Visualize Spots tool. It seems to work pretty well. Verdict: not sure if this is going to be a significant improvement .

I can't see much use for the new Radial Gradient tool and have therefore not spent much time with it.

I will try the other new features at a future time.
