Pictured below left is my buddy
Sarah. Sarah and her family live in Casper WY and
have been coming to the Music Festivals hosted by
Grand Targhee for a number of years. I started
taking photos of Sarah in 2008.
Several years later, I met
Sarah's mother and gave her some prints of the
photos I had taken. Those prints, I am told, have
the honored place in their home in Casper... on the
refrigerator door.
I was walking around the venue
looking for my good friend Pat Markert when all of a
sudden someone gives me a big hug. It was Sarah. In
a conversation with her dad, he noted that for the
past two weeks Sarah was wondering whether or not
Rick would be there to take her picture!
The weather was funky on both
Friday and Saturday but was projected to be better
on Sunday. So Sarah and I picked Sunday as the day
we would take pictures. Each time I would run into
her over the weekend, she would give me a big hug.
On Sunday afternoon, Sarah got
her face painted, put on her special dress and had a
tattoo painted on her arm. I asked if
she was ready for her photo session but no she had
to put on moisturizer first.
It turned out she had all the
photos planned out. She wanted photos of her while
doing the hula hoop and with a number of her
friends. I wound up taking around 100 photos of her
that afternoon. |
